Chelsea and Westminster Hospital
Specialist refurbishment of a top-ranked teaching hospital in central London
Type – Refurbishment
Project Value – £1.6M
Duration – 30 Weeks
The works included the strip out of each floor and creation of modern new wards which involved several specialist services installations including medical gasses, nurse call and bed head services, all of which needed to be carefully co-ordinated.
New walls, ceilings, joinery, flooring, decorations and medical furniture were all included for the ward works, together with some window replacements and structural repairs externally.
The live nature of the building and landlocked location of the wards made the project logistically challenging with all access via a front scaffold which also needed to house a cabin set up.
